“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth or rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
Eternity’s values are expressions of what is important to God in terms of worth, principles and standards of behavior.
Eternity’s values reflect the personality and nature of God. When we think about God we cannot comprehend His essential being, but we can contemplate His attributes, such as holiness, righteousness, compassion, lovingkindness, goodness, justice, etc.
Also, we see that God puts value on character traits like humility, meekness, purity, a broken spirit and a contrite heart and many more. We see that Jesus, the beloved Son in Whom God is well pleased, is the one whose life is manifested in every child of God.
Living with eternity’s values in view means being imitators of God, as beloved children.
